Principles of INSPIRE

INSPIRE information flows
The principles that rule this Directive are as follows:
- The data must be collected just once and held
in the level where it achieves maximum effectiveness.
- It must be possible to combine geographic information
from different European sources, continuous throughout Europe, simply,
and put it within the grasp of users and applications.
- The geographic information required
for good government at all levels must be abundant in
conditions that do not prevent it from being widely used.
- It must be simple to discover which
geographic information is available, which one adapts to the
requirements of a specific use and in which conditions can be acquired and used.
- The geographic data must be easy to understand
and interpret, to be able to display it simply, in the appropriate context.
